Would recommend this seller to others. Works great. Got the product I ordered. Came with all accessories in good condition.
to get the speed Just make sure you use CAT 5e or CAT 6 wire. This was purchased to create a fast link to a new HOME SERVER with a gig NIC. It was PnP, that simple.
the lacie 2big network raid is still not right - see my review of that gadget.i'd previously had a higher opinion of netgear. discovered both my imac & my lacie 2big network raid were still unable to connect. resetting their respective ethernet settings finally restored my network but gave me quite a fright. i got this to replace a d-link gigabit switch switch. now i think i'll stick to linksys. resetting it didn't help. it worked for a few months, then the other day, something went wrong & it stopped transferring packets & just flashed its link lights. i pulled it from the network & replaced it with an older linksys switch i've kept around.
This device is the interface between my PS3 & PC, & I've noticed a huge performance difference between this & my Linksys WRT54G I was using before. As the title suggests, it's as simple as plugging in the cables & off you go. I have mine mounted on a wall in my basement, so heat, as others have stated, isn't an issue.
Plugged everything in and it worked. I had a 5-port HUB (using 3 of them) across the room from my main system. File transfers now run at full speed with no collisions.Highly recommended. It did all the address look-up and handshaking without human involvement. When transferring files I got a steady stream of collisions. Really slowed down the transfer due to all the retransmissions. The SWITCH was truly Plug & Play.
